About Karen
Karen Giles M.Ac., L.Ac., Dipl Ac. (NCCAOM)
Karen Giles is a nationally board certified, New York State licensed acupuncturist. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Karen earned a Master of Acupuncture degree from Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, Maryland.
As the first accredited acupuncture program in the United States, Tai Sophia's Master of Acupuncture program combines rigorous classroom teaching with rich clinical experiences in Five Element Acupuncture. As a result, Karen has a strong theoretical and philosophical foundation of how to treat each of her patients with skill, compassion, and care.
Karen is a member of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and the New York State Association of Licensed Acupuncturists (NYSALA). She is committed to continuing education and staying current with the latest research and developments in acupuncture and integrative medicine.
Karen's practice is rooted in the Five Element tradition, which views each person as a unique individual whose health is influenced by the interplay of the five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. Her goal is to help each patient achieve and maintain optimal health and well-being.
